                                       Meet Mr. Montauk


Mr. Montauk is a 2007 graduate of the University of Central Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education Degree and became a member of the faculty at High Springs Community School.  In 2008 and 2015, he was a finalist for the HSCS Teacher of the Year award. 


At HSCS, Mr. Montauk does it all from directing the day-to-day activities of the both the Band and Chorus ensembles, he also has a few other classes in his schedule such as an After-school Jazz Band, After-school Chorus (for those wanting to sing but cannot take the class, CROP or Critical Thinking/ Credit Retrieval, 6th grade World History, Language Arts, Peer Counseling/Tech, 7th grade Geography, Language Arts and Math, and 8th grade Business Keyboarding.


Mr. Montauk was also an adjunct professor in the Adult Education department at Santa Fe College at the Main, Downtown and Archer campus', teaching general education classes to students wanting to improve their academic skills in areas such as reading, language, social studies, science and mathematics, in order to earn their high school diploma.


Mr. Montauk's philosophy is simple; Teach what needs to be taught and to instill an appreciation of the Arts to ALL. 

Mr. Montauk is an active member of The Florida Bandmasters' Association and MENC and also an active performer on the trumpet, currently performing with the group, Bubba Can't Dance.  Mr. Montauk currently resides in Gainesville, Fl with his beautiful wife, also a UCF graduate, his beautiful daughter, handsome son, and their Maltese/yorky mix puppy.
