                                       Meet Mr. Montauk


Mr. Montauk is a 2007 graduate of the University of Central Florida where he received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree.  Mr. Montauk has concluded his first year as a member of the faculty at High Springs Community School and is excited about next year.

At HSCS, Mr. Montauk directs the day to day activities of the HSCS Middle Grade Band ensembles.  Mr. Montauk's duties include teaching the Beginning Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band as well as general educations classes. 

Mr. Montauk is also an adjunct professor for the Adult Education department at Santa Fe College teaching general education classes to students wanting to improve their academic skills in areas such as reading, language, social studies, science and mathematics, in order to earn their high school diploma.

Mr. Montauk's philosophy is simple; Teach what needs to be taught and to instill an appreciation of the Arts to ALL of his students. 

Mr. Montauk is an active member of The Florida Bandmasters' Association and MENC and also an active performer on the trumpet.  Mr. Montauk currently resides in Gainesville, FL with his beautiful wife, Laura.

0 Period - Secret Lab Band (Mondays/ Wednesdays, individual practice other days)  

1st Period - 5th Grade General Music (No class on Wednesdays)

2nd Period - Beginning Band (9 week rotation)

3rd Period - Concert Band

4th Period - 6th Grade World History (Discovers)

5th Period - Planning/ Lunch

6th Period - 6th Grade World History (Explorers)
